James
R. Moore is the Chief Financial Officer of Venture Foundry. Mr.
Moore is also Managing Director of Enterprise Capital Resources
(ECR), an entrepreneurial finance and capital-sourcing firm headquartered
in Seattle, Washington, with affiliates in San Francisco, Milwaukee,
Salt Lake City, New York City, Austin, Boca Raton and Denver.
He
is also a contributing editor to the Private Equity Review, a bi-monthly
review reporting on developmental-stage companies suitable for private
equity or debt investment. He is the author of three "how to" publications:
Business Angels: Finding Hard-to-Find Private Investors, The Guide
to Writing An Investor-Oriented Business Plan, and Investing in
Early Stage Private Equity Ventures.
He
recently organized the highly successful Technology Investor Forum
for the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and was a moderator
for the MIT Enterprise Forum program on commercializing technology.
A frequent speaker on angel capital and venture investing, Mr. Moore
is also an associate of the Seattle-based boutique investment bank,
Chanen Painter and Company.
Jim
Moore has successfully raised capital for a wide variety of domestic
and international enterprises‹including injection molding, hazardous
materials abatement, airline, modular display systems, gourmet foods
distribution, food processing, computer accessories, direct marketing
and coal-fired power plants. He has also invested his own capital
in a range of ventures over the past decade. He serves as an advisory
board member of CBeX.com, Pacific Management Resources, and Tufans
Technology Corporation.
Previously, Mr. Moore was a founder and Vice President of Merchant
Pacific Capital. From 1993 through 1997, he served as Chief Operating
Officer of Direct Services, Inc., a direct marketing firm. During
1987-89 he was CFO and VP Operations of Amaray International, a
$30 million injection molding firm that was acquired by an NYSE
listed company. He has over 20 years of experience as a financial
consultant, completing over 30 major assignments in two dozen countries.
Mr. Moore is a long-time board member of the Northwest Venture Group
(NWVG), the region's largest organization dedicated to assisting
entrepreneurial ventures become successful. He is also immediate
past President of the Harvard Business School Club of Puget Sound.
Mr. Moore has been a board member/officer of several early stage
firms.
Education: Mr. Moore earned a B.A. in Engineering and Applied Physics
from Harvard University (1966). He holds Masters Degrees in Business
Administration and Regional Planning, also from Harvard (1972).
